2 Minutes to Reset: A Quick Breath Technique
Nov 01, 2023We all know that we can use our breath to find peace and groundless quickly.
But did you know that Stanford's Huberman Labs, led by the neuroscientist and opthamologist, Dr. Andrew Huberman, has tested the effectiveness of different breathing techniques to see what gets people back to that calm and centered space the fastest?
In their tests, a very simple breathing technique that we all do when we are sleeping, is one of the fastest ways to find center again. It consists of two inhales through the nose and then an exhale through the mouth. When you repeat this for two minutes, your nervous system calms right down.
My friend, Dr. Bernhard Langwallner, has added a little qi gong movement to this breathing technique and calls it Tree Breath. Together, we've created a lot of variations on the theme but I recorded a short video for you to breathe along with.
Ready, set, relax!
